Basil

Basil (Ocimum basilicum) is an annual herb belonging to the mint family (Lamiaceae). The glossy, oval-shaped leaves of basil have smooth or slightly toothed edges and typically cup slightly. These aromatic leaves are used fresh or dried to flavor meats, fish, salads, and sauces.
